Cake smash sessions are a crowd favorite, for good reason. They’re all about having fun and celebrating. Plus–there’s cake! Here is my round up of all the cake smash photography sessions featured on my blog in the last six months. I’ve split them up between girls and boys. But here is your official reminder that there are no rules when it comes to cake smash sessions, themes, and color schemes.

Cake Smash Sessions for Girls

These sessions are primarily from the year 2020. And I think it’s safe to say some of the top trends included boho touches and shades of pink. Trends that have continued to be popular this last year as well. There are some others that are less popular, but just as fun, themes. Including winter inspired cake smash sessions, pumpkins, and even safari!

Cake Smash Sessions for Boys

For boy cake smash sessions, shades of blue are definitely the go-to. That being said, there were still some parents who decided to go against the typical mold. I love the black, gold, and silver themed cake smash. And I’ve been seeing more and more neutral cake smash sessions, and I have to say I love them as well. Winter, motorcycles, travel, and Bruins were other themes featured on the blog in the last six months.
