Mr. C’s 1 Year Smash and Splash Photos :: Boston MA Photographer

Mr. C came to my studio from Boston for his 1 year smash and splash photos. His parents had recently moved to Boston from out of state. They reached out to me before even moving this way. I love when families find me with no previous connection! We started off with some family portraits before shifting the focus to Mr. C for some solo portraits. He has such gorgeous blue eyes and they really pop with his blue seersucker (this one piece is beyond adorable, by the way)! Then it was all about the real fun of the session: the cake smash! I love his cake smash–bright primary colors, some fluffy cotton clouds. And his truly precious cake smash outfit. The vintage stacked suitcases and airplanes add the perfect travel-inspired touch (a great nod to their recent travels moving to Boston!) Going back and forth with Mr. C’s mom about the planning of this cake smash was so much fun!

Adding a Bubble Bath to Your Cake Smash

What takes this smash to the next level is adding a bubble bath to make it a smash AND splash! I’ve done a few of these over the years and they are always so much fun. Not every little one loves bath time, but a lot do. And for those kiddos this can be a great way to have fun and relax. In the past I’ve done milk baths (which is with watered down milk). In this case it was a bubble bath. Add in some bubbles from my every handy bubble machine and you’ve got the perfect bubble bath portraits. This is a fun add on idea for families looking into cake smash sessions. They add a unique touch without having to hand too much advance prep or planning. I have this little bucket that’s perfect for the occasion. I’ve also done these in a more vintage/antique clawfoot tub.
