Mr. O’s 1 Year Baby Photos and Cake Smash :: Windham NH Photographer
Mr. O was in my studio two whole years ago for his first birthday celebration. This Windham NH baby boy’s 1 year and cake smash photos session had some of my absolute favorite things. It had smiles. It had adorable clothes. And (this one is very important for birthdays) it had CAKE. And not just any cake, but a super colorful monster inspired cake! We started out the session with some solo portraits of Mr. O (outfit change included). Then it was all about the cake smash. This smash was super colorful while also staying on the simple side. There was no obvious or over the top theme, but it was still super fun and festive. Multi colored balloons scattered on the ground, a few streamers, and a classic “ONE” banner provided the backdrop. But other than that it was just simple baby and cake. The best of both worlds!
Styling and Clothing Inspiration
When it comes to these one year baby photography sessions, there are so many different options. Some parents choose to focus on baby portraits. Some families choose to go heavy on family photos. For some the cake smash is definitely the main event. And for others it’s all about celebrating the first birthday in every way possible. In this case, the cake smash was AN event but not the ONLY event. We started off with some photos of a super stylish Mr. O with a scally cap and suspenders. And by the way, these are both ALWAYS a good idea for baby photos in my opinion! I love how the lighter background really makes the blue of Mr. O’s shirt and his eyes pop. He then had a quick outfit change into some seriously adorable denim overalls (again–always a good idea). These were in front of the darker wood background and I simply adore how it gives it a classic, almost rustic feel. Then it was back into jeans (sans shirt this time) for the cake smash. A great inspiration for cute, stylish outfit choices!
