Miss E’s Outdoor Family and Cake Smash Photos :: Andover MA Photographer

We’re going to hop in the time machine for a second back to summer of 2020. We were still in the midst of quarantine and pandemic uncertainty. Which meant that the way I did photography sessions had to be changed a bit. While I reopened my Andover MA studio has soon as I was able (with a ton of added sanitizing measures), not everyone was comfortable being in the studio for their session. Which meant way more outdoor sessions than ever before. It also meant having outdoor sessions that would have definitely been in-studio during any other time. For this session, I went to Miss E’s home for some outdoor family AND cake smash photos. This definitely wasn’t a typical session for me. But I am so glad that this family and I worked together to capture these memories.

First Birthday Photos Outdoors

One of the great things about my studio is that I have the ability to control everything from temperature and lighting to backdrops for photos. This isn’t the case outside (sadly I cannot control the weather!) This can make some sessions trickier than others when it comes to being outside. But just because it’s tricky doesn’t mean it’s impossible! For this cake smash session we added some color with some balloons in various shades of pink. A pink blanket gave Miss E somewhere comfy to sit (a must if your kiddo hates the feel of grass!). Then it was just a few extra accessories to make the set up festive and fun. But of course the real star(s) of the show were Miss E–and her cake!
