What Is Baby’s First Year Photography?
Baby milestone photography captures the important stages of your baby’s development throughout the first year of life. Many families begin documenting this journey during pregnancy with maternity portraits and continue with newborn and baby milestone sessions after their baby arrives.
Together, these sessions create a meaningful visual story of your growing family.
What Milestones Are Included in the First Year Experience?
The package offers a flexible approach, allowing families to select the number of sessions that best fits their plans for the year.
Maternity Session
Celebrate the anticipation and excitement as you prepare to meet your baby. Maternity portraits typically take place between 32 and 36 weeks and can include your partner, older children, or just you and your bump. It’s a beautiful way to begin your baby’s story.
Newborn Session
The newborn session captures the early days of sleepiness, tiny toes, and swaddled snuggles. Parents and siblings are always welcome to be included.
Tummy Time Session (around 3–4 months)
That first smile, those little belly rolls, and the way babies light up when they see you. This milestone is full of joy and personality. You can read more about how the 3–4 month session differs from a newborn session in my blog post.
Sitter Session (around 6–9 months)
Once your baby can sit independently, it’s the perfect time for playful portraits full of expression, curiosity, and personality. This stage often produces some of parents’ favorite milestone portraits.
First Birthday / Cake Smash Session
Celebrate turning one with a custom first birthday portrait session, complete with family portraits and an optional cake smash. These sessions are designed to feel fun and unique to your baby.
Bonus: Additional Birthday Mini Sessions
Because the changes don’t stop at one, this experience also includes complimentary mini portrait sessions and discounted products for a few years after your baby turns one. It’s my way of saying thank you and continuing to capture your growing family.
