A Round Up of Family Photos and Photography Sessions
Family photo sessions are always a ton of fun. And they are ALWAYS a good idea. No matter what chapter of life your family is in, there is reason to celebrate. And there is also reason to capture these special moments and hold on tight. Which is why I always love when families come to me for family portraits. Whether it’s to celebrate a specific milestone for one (or more) children. Or if it’s a seasonal mini session that I offer. Or if it’s just to have fun as a family. No matter the reason, I love these sessions. Keep scrolling to see more of the recent family photo sessions I have featured on the blog!

Indoor Family Photos
There are so many pros to having a family photo session in my studio. I have complete control over the temperature, the lighting. I have easy access to my props and accessories. Plus there is always a comfy place to sit for a second, recharge. I have a mini fridge and snacks for children and parents alike. I’m extremely fond of my studio and I like to make it as comfortable for families as possible. Which is why I love when families opt for indoor family photos! These are especially popular during the cold of winter or heat of summer but they are available all year round!
Outdoor Family Photos
I think it’s safe to say that outdoor family photos are hands down the most popular option. And who can blame parents for choosing this option?! Whether it’s for golden hour in a park, in the sunny summer by the ocean. Or my all-time favorite of fall foliage photos. I have even had an outdoor family session in the winter and it was so much fun! No matter what time of year, outdoor photos are stunning. They make take a bit more planning (dressing according to the weather, bringing along everything you could need). But the effort is worth it! Plus it’s a great option for families with kids who need to run around a bit to burn off some energy!
Family Mini Sessions
A few times a year I offer family mini sessions. These are a great option for parents looking to update their family portrait and aren’t too concerned with having a large gallery to choose from. They’re only about 15 minutes long which means no outfit changes or custom set designs. But they’re a more affordable option perfect for some families. In the past I have offered “Mommy and Me” outdoor mini sessions in the spring/summer. I always have a weekend of outdoor fall mini sessions. And of course for the holidays I offer both in studio and for the past few years I have also offered tree farm mini sessions. While many of these mini sessions are limited in availability and dates, full sessions are always available year round!
