The B Family’s Outdoor Fall Family Photos :: Salem NH Photographer
I meet up with this Salem NH family for outdoor fall photos every year. And let me tell you, I always look forward to this session for numerous reasons. For one thing, they’re such a fun family. But for another, I always love how mama styles her family for these portraits!
For these family portrait sessions I always make sure to get a good amount of sister photos, too. These girls have about a 5 year age gap. Which makes for such a fun dynamic, and I love getting to watch this dynamic and relationship grow as the two girls grow up. This is one reason why I think family photos are so, so important. Being able to capture the love that these two sisters share is so special. And I know that both Miss A and Miss M will love having these photos to look back on!

Styling Fall Family Portraits
One of the most common things I am asked about is styling. Especially when it comes to outdoor family photos. And the truth is you really can’t make a bad decision as long as everyone is comfortable. Comfort is definitely key when it comes to outfits for photos, especially for kids. Every year this mama makes such great styling choices. She always makes sure the whole family looks sweet and stylish, while also being comfortable. I love the color of mom’s dress. It’s a great complement to dad’s burgundy sweater, and even to little Miss M’s leggings which are a slightly lighter, more muted shade of the same color. This also means that both Miss A and Miss M stand out a bit from their parents in white.
Another great way to create visual interest in these photos is with texture. In this case, you can see the texture in both Miss A’s sweater, and in the fuzzy faux fur of Miss M. And of course you can never go wrong with a flower crown!
