Pregnancy is one of life’s most exciting transitions, and maternity portraits are a wonderful way to slow down and celebrate it before everything changes. Many Cambridge families choose to schedule maternity photos during the early third trimester before welcoming their newest family member. This session was full of gorgeous silhouettes and beautiful floral touches.

Newborn sessions move at baby’s pace, allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and cuddling. Parents can simply relax while I safely guide every pose and create a collection that includes individual newborn portraits, family photographs, and sibling images when applicable.

Although my newborn photography studio is located in Andover, many families travel from Cambridge because they value an experienced photographer who specializes in safely photographing newborns. This session had some of the sweetest family photos. And was a great reminder that sometimes babies wake up during their session, and that is quite alright!

These sessions are simple but incredibly meaningful because they capture a stage that passes almost overnight. In this case, it was about celebrating a special milestone in this family’s culture: 100 days.

By nine months, babies are often sitting confidently, crawling, pulling themselves up, and showing off big smiles and even bigger personalities. It’s one of my favorite ages to photograph because babies are naturally expressive and eager to interact with the world around them.

This Cambridge family’s little boy brought so much joy to his milestone session. With plenty of laughter, curious expressions, and those unmistakable baby grins, we created a gallery that perfectly captured this fun and active stage before his first birthday. For many families, a nine month session becomes one of the most treasured milestones of baby’s first year.

One Year Baby Portraits Without a Cake Smash

Not every first birthday session includes cake, and that’s perfectly okay. This adorable little lady had a full photoshoot dressed as Snow White which was so much fun! She did have some cake after, but the Snow White look was too precious not to include.

Some parents simply want beautiful portraits that focus on their baby’s personality. These sessions often include classic outfits, timeless backgrounds, and plenty of opportunities to capture those newly developing expressions and little milestones that make this age so much fun.

Cake Smash Sessions Full of Personality

For families who do want to celebrate with cake, a cake smash session is a playful way to mark a first birthday.

Every setup is thoughtfully designed around each family’s vision, whether that means soft and classic, colorful and whimsical, or something completely unique. For this family, that meant a super fun and creative Cup Noodles themed cake smash. I can honestly say this theme was a first for me and it has remained one of my most memorable themes over the years!

Toddlers bring curiosity, confidence, and plenty of surprises to every session.

Rather than expecting perfect poses, I create an environment where children can explore, laugh, and simply be themselves. That often means breaking out the bubble machine like I did for this Cambridge toddler.

Family portraits at the beach offer a completely different feel from studio sessions. The open space, soft evening light, and relaxed atmosphere allow children to play naturally while we create a beautiful mix of candid moments and timeless family portraits.

Many Cambridge families choose beach sessions during the summer, making the drive well worth it for the beautiful coastal scenery found along the North Shore. I’ve photographed this family numerous times over the years and they’re always up for some fun.
