Miss A’s 16 Month Old Toddler Photos near Rowley MA
Oh, Miss A! This sweet little lady and her parents came to my studio from their home in Rowley MA to grab some toddler and family photos when Miss A was 16 months old. I have been photographing Miss A since she was still inside mama’s belly. I then photographed her newborn photos and some outdoor family photos before this session. And since these pictures were taken, I have photographed mama’s maternity photos with Miss A’s baby brother, his newborn, and his one year photos! I have loved getting to watch Miss A grow from a teeny tiny newborn into a big sister!
We started off her session with some family portraits before focusing solely on her. I especially love the photo where mama’s gown is flying behind her. This is something we do all the time in maternity photos (and you can even see this gorgeous mama in a very similar gown during her Rowley Pregnancy Pictures here). But just as this photo shows, I can absolutely incorporate that into family pictures as well. It adds a touch of whimsy and glam, and I love it.
Reasons We Love Toddler Pictures
Many parents are quick to capture every milestone from birth to first birthday. But this is my official reminder to keep having portraits taken even after the first birthday. And if you don’t believe me, just check out all these Rowley toddler photos of Miss A. While 16 months might not seem like a huge difference from 12 months, there can definitely be some changes in that time. I say it all the time with newborns, every day can bring something new. And we all tend to forget that the same thing rings true for babies and toddlers, too. These little ones are growing with each day, learning new things, and growing into their personalities.
Another thing I love about this Rowley toddler portrait session is it’s a great reminder that there is no wrong time to take photographs. While this family wasn’t able to get in right at 12 months for the “typical” one year photos, they were able to take these. And while she might be a few months past her first birthday, these photos are still a great keepsake to have.
There are so many reasons to love toddler photos. They’re definitely reactive, and with my assistant’s help we can get some great smiles. And let’s be real, toddlers are hilarious. And from a portrait perspective, there are so many adorable clothes, accessories, and props for these photos. The rocking swan that Miss A rode on for her portraits is a definite winner for toddler photos. I always have chairs and stools for little ones to sit on. And because I always have an assistant by my side, your little one will be safe throughout their whole session. I have plenty of options in my studio for props, clothing and accessories. But for adorable toddler clothes I always recommend Bella Bliss or Hope and Henry.
