Rowley Pregnancy Pics :: Mom-to-be A
These soon-to-be parents came to visit my studio from Rowley for mama’s maternity photos. Baby girl is now one! She’ll be in the studio some time this month for her first year portraits. It’s crazy how fast time flies! I also photographed her for her newborn session, and then I saw her again this past fall for family photos. I love getting to see “my” families numerous times. Especially during the first year of baby’s life. There are so many changes during that first year of life!
Maternity photos are such a special thing to have. I always say that these portraits aren’t just for us, but also for the upcoming generations. Imagine getting to see a picture of your grandmother pregnant with your mom or dad? That would be amazing!
I love getting to “meet” a baby for the first time in mama’s tummy and then meet them again for their newborn photos. Check out this post all about what’s involved in a newborn portrait session: Top 5 Reasons to Hire a Professional Newborn Photographer.
Styling Ideas for This Rowley Maternity Photo Session
For every session that I shoot, my goal is to make sure everyone is comfortable. This is especially important during maternity sessions. I want to make sure that mama-to-be feels as comfortable and beautiful as possible. This is such a beautiful time to celebrate, and I want these shots to come out just as mama dreamed they would. To help me accomplish this, I have a whole dress rack full of beautiful maternity gowns and tutus to choose from. This mama-to-be is wearing a few different gowns in this session. These gowns are some of my favorites, and I love how they look when they’re flying behind mama. The movement of the gowns adds such a sense of drama and intrigue to these portraits. This mama chose to go with a pink theme to her maternity photos, since she was expecting a little lady. But in the studio I have dresses in pretty much any color you could want.
Some moms don’t like to focus on the bare belly, but these shots end up being some of my favorites. I love how the white lace and tutu frame her belly perfectly. This shot is one I love being able to capture in maternity sessions since that belly is definitely worth celebrating!

Displaying Your Maternity Portraits
So often we display our children’s photos before we display photos of ourselves. Maybe we hang up a wedding portrait or two, but that tends to be it. Well, I think displaying maternity portraits on your walls is a fantastic idea. Your child will grow up seeing photos of mama pregnant with them, and what could be more meaningful than that? And my team and I are here to make the entire process of choosing your artwork as easy as possible. Whether you prefer custom framed artwork or gallery wrap canvases, we can create a mock-up to show you how your products will look on your walls before you buy them.
