Georgetown MA Baby Photographer :: 1 Year Old Miss M
This awesome family came to my studio from Georgetown MA for Miss M’s one year baby photo session. There are about a million reasons why I love my job as a baby photographer. Getting to play with and cuddle adorable babies like this is definitely one reason. But another huge reason is that I get to meet amazing families like this one! I first met them when mama was pregnant with big brother and I got to photograph her maternity portraits.
They took advantage of my baby planner package which meant I got to see them again for Mr. D’s newborn, six month, and one year photos to capture the major first year milestones. But it didn’t stop there, he even came back for his 2 year and 3 year mini sessions that I include with that package. This little guy is such a sweetheart so I loved getting to photograph him over and over!
I met Miss M for the first time as a teeny tiny newborn, and you can see those photos here: Woburn MA Newborn Photographer.

Using this Georgetown MA Baby Photo Session as Inspiration
This mama always knows what she wants when it comes to styling. If you read Miss M’s newborn session blog post that I linked above, I talk all about how mom makes Pinterest board to share with me her ideas for each session. And this session was no different! The color scheme was all about light colors. I tend to shoot more in front of my dark wood backdrop, but I really love how these came out in front of the seamless white paper backdrop. Mom, dad, and big brother were all in different colors, which could clash. But in this case they all had a muted, almost dusty tone to them which made them go perfectly together. Miss M had quite a few outfit changes, going from light pink, to taupe, to gray and to cream. Each of these colors kept that light, dusty theme going.
If you’re not sure what color scheme to put your family in for your family portraits, don’t worry! We have an online styling tool to help!
The milk bath was actually mom’s idea, and it was actually the first time that I did a milk bath after a cake smash. And let me tell you, I love this idea! I kind of want to do it for every cake smash (ha!). Cake smash sessions are already so much fun, but this milk bath definitely took it to the next level. And judging by her happily splashing around, I think Miss M would agree that it was definitely a success.
Creating a Wall Gallery at Home
Who here loves a wall gallery?! * raises hand * I know I do. But I can admit that sometimes the idea of creating a cohesive wall gallery is a bit daunting. But thanks to technology, I can help! It might not be the exact same as seeing it in person on your wall, but it is definitely the next best thing. If you send me a photo of your wall (with a piece of printer paper taped to it so I can get a good idea of the size and dimensions), I can do the rest. Whether you like the look of canvases, framed art, or a mix of both. If you like all the photos the same size, or a varied. No matter what your style and color scheme, I can help you get that wall gallery you’ve been dreaming of. And speaking of dreamy, here’s an example of a wall gallery mock up using photos from this extra dreamy session.
