Miss C’s Newborn Photos by a Salem NH Area Photographer
Sweet Miss C came to my studio with her family for her newborn photos. I was so, so excited to meet this little lady. One of the best aspects of my job as a Salem NH area photographer is getting to meet awesome families like this one. I had previously photographed Miss C’s big sister, Miss M, for her 3 month, 7 month, 1 year, and 2 year photos! Not only was I able to witness Miss M growing so much over that time, but I also got to see her become a big sister. And now I’ll be able to watch Miss C grow up, too. How lucky am I?!

Inspiration from these Baby Portraits
Since I actually wasn’t able to photograph Miss M as a new baby, this was my first time getting the chance to capture newborn portraits for this Salem NH family. While 3 months may still seem like a tiny baby, there is a huge difference between a newborn session and a 3 month session. For one thing, I’m not able to capture the sweet and sleepy newborn poses at 3 months. For Miss C’s Salem newborn photos, we went for classic and girly. This meant lots of white, lace, and flowers. I also added in pops of light purple and pink for Miss C’s solo shots. I love the way the shades of lilac and lavender look on top of white knit blankets. And of course, nothing says girly quite like pink flowers. For the family photos the pop of color came in the form of a dark red floral headband.
One thing I love to think about while planning out a session is what will happen after the session. Do mom and dad have plans to make albums using the portraits? Or perhaps hang them on the wall as part of a wall gallery? There are so many options with professional portraits. And I love helping my clients figure out which options are the best for them.
I have an abundance of newborn swaddles, hats and headbands in the studio for use in your Salem area newborn pictures. But for some of your own, I always recommend starting with Etsy!
