Salem NH Baby Portraits :: 7 Month Old Miss M
Miss M and her parents came from Salem NH to my studio for her 7 month old baby portraits. This was my second time photographing her, and the second of her first year milestone photos. You can check out those 3 month photos here. I also saw her for her one year cake smash, and her 2 year portraits, and a few different mini sessions. Just recently I got to photograph her baby sister for her newborn photos, too!
The 6-7 month milestone is what we call a sitter session. At this age, babies are starting to sit up on their own, which is an exciting milestone. Next thing you know, they’re up and moving. But since for now they’re still not mobile, this makes it much easier to grab some adorable photos. Plus, it allows us to use props in different ways. Styling Choices for these Salem NH Baby Photos
Miss M’s three month session was all about pink and purple. For many of these photos, we kept that soft pink and purple color palette. But we also got a little more colorful. In this case, that meant pops of red thanks to a little red wagon and an adorable red and white checkered outfit. Not to mention a pop of red thanks to her headband in the photos of Miss M sitting in the little wooden plane. I have had clients mention this exact photo as one they saw on social media and want to recreate! And who can blame them, it’s adorable. For this mom and dad this prep was a little extra special because dad is actually a pilot! What a perfect way to honor dad in these photos.
I have a ton of options for clothing and accessories in my studio for sessions like these Salem NH baby portraits. And all of them are available for clients to use during their sessions. But I get asked for clothing recommendations from parents all the time. And sometimes my answers change as I find new adorable options. But you can never go wrong with Janie and Jack or Gap!

Creating A Wall Gallery In Your Child’s Room
My daughters are seven and they absolutely love looking at baby pictures of themselves. In fact, their room has more than a few portraits of themselves decorating their walls and shelves. Before I had kids of my own, I don’t know if I would have thought about using milestone photos from their first year to decorate their rooms as they got older. But I can tell you, it’s definitely a great idea! I especially love the idea of adding to the wall gallery as they grow. Whether you have one photo or a whole assortment, there are benefits to both framed artwork and canvases. I love canvases in children’s rooms for a few reasons. The main one is how sturdy and durable they are. If you have a rambunctious toddler (or two, like me), you don’t have to worry about breaking glass if a canvas should fall from the wall. Definitely an important thing to think about!
