Styling Newborn Portraits Using Pink :: Andover MA Photographer
Newborn photography is a beautiful way to capture the precious moments of your little one’s first days in the world. And what better way to add a touch of sweetness and innocence to these photos than by incorporating the color pink? In this blog post we’re going to look at some past sessions of mine that are all about pretty in pink! Whether the color is incorporated with backgrounds, props, or accessories. If you need ideas and inspiration for using pink for newborn portraits, you’ve come to the right place!
Using Props and Accessories
When planning a newborn session, it’s important to have a variety of props and outfits on hand. For a pink-themed session, consider using soft, pastel-colored blankets, wraps, and headbands. You can also incorporate pink flowers, bows, and other accessories to add a pop of color to the photos. I have a huge assortment of headbands, bows, hats, crowns, and more that clients can use during sessions. And in that collection are a number of pink accessories perfect for newborn portraits. Clients are always welcome to bring their own props and accessories from home, too.
The great thing about the color pink is that it’s so versatile. Want to make it a floral look? There are a ton of great floral options in pink. Want a princessy look? Just add a crown! I have a super sweet heart shaped bowl that looks perfect with a pink blanket over it. Princess beds, a rustic pink bucket, the options are endless!
Complementary Colors with Pink
There are so many different shades of pink, from soft pastel up to bright pink. And no matter what shade you prefer, there are so many options to add a complementary color. Or you can stick with neutral shades like white, gray, and beige and have pink be the pop of color. Purple is a classic choice to go with pink for newborn portraits. Teal, mint, peach, and light blue have also become popular options over the years to go with pink. Whether you’re looking for soft and sweet, or bright and cheerful, there is a pink color combo for you.
