Inspiration and Ideas for Outdoor Newborn Photos near Andover MA
Over the years, I have photographed just about every milestone session both indoors and outdoors. I have met up with families for their maternity, family, and toddler sessions at parks and beaches. Both my summer and fall seasons are full of outdoor sessions. So much so that I offer mini sessions to fit in as many families as possible! The recent health concerns around the Coronavirus have reignited my love of outdoor newborn photography.
The Benefits To Outdoor Newborn Photos
So, what are the benefits to having an outdoor newborn session? Any outdoor session has the gorgeous backdrop of nature. In the case of the session featured here, that means grass, trees, stone walls and even a little pond.
If you have a park near your home that is meaningful to you, I can absolutely make it work. Or maybe you just love your backyard. Having newborn portraits taken in your own back yard can make them even more meaningful. I’m getting chills just thinking about it! If you don’t have a specific park or yard in mind, don’t fret. Over my years of photographing newborns in my current Andover MA studio and in my previous Medford MA studio, I have found different parks that I love and highly recommend.
Outdoor sessions are also the perfect option for family and sibling photos when there is a toddler involved. The fact that this big brother was able to run and play between his portraits definitely helped him burn some energy!
The Differences Between Indoor and Outdoor Newborn Portrait Sessions
There will be some differences between your indoor and outdoor newborn session. I will still bring along with me an assortment of props, swaddles, blankets, and accessories. Before your session I will send a questionnaire to make sure we are on the same page when it comes to colors and styles for your session. Then I’ll load up my van with the props and accessories I think you will like. So don’t worry, you won’t be missing out on my (excessive) collection!
