Miss C’s Fall Pumpkins Cake Smash :: Waltham Photographer

Miss C and her family came to my studio from nearby Waltham to celebrate her first birthday with some baby pictures and of course a cake smash session. I had previously photographed mama’s maternity session and Miss C’s newborn photos. They had one of my first year baby planner packages to include all three sessions. I love getting to watch little ones grow throughout their first year!

Incorporating a Theme into First Birthday Sessions

Miss C is a Halloween baby, so incorporating pumpkins into her first year session was a no brainer. Not only is it seasonally appropriate, but they’re also pretty adorable. Plus… Who doesn’t love pumpkins?! No one that I know of. And I love that the less traditional, more fairy tale type of heirloom pumpkins have come into style more and more lately. The cake smash set design was kept fairly simple, with stacks of pumpkins of all different sizes scattered about. I really love how this set design turned out. It’s a little bit whimsical, a little bit rustic, and a whole lot of adorable!
