Mr. J’s Beachy Nautical Newborn Photos with Big Brothers :: Billerica MA Photographer
Sweet Mr. J came to my studio from nearby Billerica MA for some newborn photos. And these weren’t just any newborn photos. These newborn photos had some beachy nautical vibes AND including his two big brothers! Before any session I send parents a styling questionnaire. This includes everything from desired color schemes to must have poses. In this case, mom specifically mentioned neutrals, light blue/teal and a beach theme. I think it’s safe to say we managed to tick all of those boxes. For family photos they kept it light and airy with mom and dad in white tops, big brothers in light blue tee shirts and Mr. J swaddled in a matching light blue. When it came time for solo portraits of Mr. J, there was a great variety. Some were simple on a light gray blanket. Some set ups added a pop of teal, which was specifically to match the decor in his nursery. This is something that I always ask about just in case parents want options to hang in the nursery! And then, it was time for the nautical and beachy newborn photos. Since they have a beach home they wanted some options to also hang there. I brought out the starfish, the little anchor and some netting. I love nautical vibes for newborn photos!
Including Siblings in Baby Portraits
Mr. J was the third little boy born to this family. He was nice enough to share the spotlight for part of his session and bring his brothers along. And his brothers were so great during this session. Biggest brother was five, and middle brother was just 18 months. These ages have the potential to be tricky to photograph but these two rocked this session. Biggest brother listened to everything and was SO polite. And middle brother, still a toddler, was just as great. They both gave me great smiles and were a joy to have in my studio. Oftentimes parents are concerned about how their kiddos will behave while in the studio. But my assistants and I have been at this for a long time, we have tons of tricks up our sleeves! If you want adorable photos of all your kiddos, please don’t hesitate to bring big siblings along for the fun! Newborn photos with big brothers or sisters are always extra special.
