Miss S’s Newborn Photography Session :: Tewksbury MA Photographer
Miss S came to my studio from nearby Tewksbury MA for her newborn photography session. We started off, as I usually do, with some sweet portraits of the new family of three. But then it was all about Miss S. I typically start off with family photos as a way to get mom and dad comfortable with me, my studio, and my assistant. Especially with first time parents it can be a bit overwhelming to hand your baby over. In this case, I had previously met mom and dad for maternity photos. This does make it a little easier to get right into the photo shoot. But there is always time to catch up and get comfortable at the start of the session.

Personalizing Newborn Photos Using Props
Before any session I send a questionnaire. This is so that I can be prepared for the session by knowing who is going to be coming along. It’s also so that I can prepare with props and accessories. For this session, mom and dad had mentioned a few things in particular. One was the airplane/Amelia Earhart photo. This is one that I have photographed before and mom and dad had actually seen it on my blog. They also specifically mentioned photos with a nautical touch for dad, and with a musical touch for mom.
I have a huge selection of props and accessories in my studio that are up for grabs during newborn sessions. This includes everything from small props like seashells, faux flowers and butterflies. And larger props like the wooden airplane you can see here, or wooden boats and antique beds. No matter what style you are looking for I most likely have something that will work. And of course, parents are welcome to bring personalized props and accessories along with them.
