My holiday and Christmas portraits mini sessions are always so much fun. Getting to catch up with the families I see every year. Getting the chance to meet new families. Plus there is so much festive joy surrounding these sessions. But that doesn’t mean they don’t come with some challenges. Depending on the age of your little one, there are a different set of challenges. For babies, the challenge might be getting them to focus. For older kids, it might be getting them to smile. And for toddlers, well, they’re toddlers! Which means sometimes they’re sweet as can be and smiling happily for the camera. And other times…well. Not so much.
Keep scrolling to see Miss A’s absolutely adorable and hilarious stink face. It might seem like she wasn’t pleased with the session as a whole but don’t worry–I also got some great smiles from her. And that hilarious stink face photo actually made it onto her family’s Christmas card!
Mini Sessions vs Full Sessions
I love that I am able to offer mini sessions around the holidays. It allows families who might otherwise not be able to get Christmas photos to come to the studio. They’re a quick option, but that also comes with limitations. The truth of the matter is that mini sessions aren’t for everyone. Which is why in addition to my mini session days I also always offer full Christmas and holiday sessions. Families still have access to my festive set designs and digital composite portraits.
