Miss L’s Newborn Portraits :: Newbury MA Newborn Photographer
Sweet Miss L from Newbury came to my studio with her mom, dad, and big sis for some newborn photos. And this session really managed to have it all. We got some great family portraits. Some sister photos. Plus some sweet sleepy swaddled newborn pictures. Then some wide eyed awake newborn shots. And even a little newborn smile! Talk about winning the newborn photo session jackpot!
Styling for this session was all about soft colors, neutrals, and keeping a whimsical vibe. In the styling questionnaire from before the session mom specifically mentioned loving props and accessories. And good thing because I have A LOT. We went with a few different props Miss L could be comfy cozy inside, both with a vintage feel to them. And for accessories there was everything from headbands, to crowns, to angel wings. Including Siblings in Newborn Pictures
Joining Miss L for her photos were her parents and her three year old big sister. Big sis cuddled with her parents, gave her baby sister a little smooch, and even got the princess treatment. Not every family decides to include big siblings in newborn photos–and that is totally okay! But I always welcome and encourage it. Not only does it make for fantastic keepsakes that everyone will love to have. But it also is a great bonding moment for the siblings. It helps the big sibling(s) feel included. Getting a new baby brother or sister is a big change! This can help them feel like they’re not being forgotten. And oftentimes while baby is getting changed or fed, I’m able to get some solo shots of the big sibling as well. They get a little one-on-one attention, you get some great portraits!
