Mr. C’s 1 Year Portraits and Outdoor Family Photos in Manchester-by-the-Sea
Mr. C and his family came to my studio for his one year portraits. We then met up later that day for some outdoor Manchester-by-the-Sea family photos. Getting to help little ones like Mr. C celebrate their first birthdays is always fun for me. In this case, that meant some solo portraits and, of course, a cake smash. I loved mama’s vision of a simple and timeless fall cake smash. Some large pine cones, faux foliage (fauxliage, if you will), and wooden stump accents were all that it took to give the cake smash the perfect touch of autumn. Mr. C’s jeans and suspenders are both adorable and timeless. The timeless feel carried over from his solo portraits. You can’t go wrong with plaid!
Incorporating Outdoor Photos Into Your Portrait Session
One of the things I love about this session is that it truly is the best of both worlds. I was able to capture Mr. C’s one year solo portraits, as well as his cake smash, in the morning. Then, when it was closer to sunset, I met up with the family in nearby Manchester-by-the-Sea for some great outdoor family portraits. One of the greatest things about living in the North Shore is getting to take advantage of all the beautiful small coastal towns that are only a short drive away.
Adding on outdoor photos to a session is something that I am more than happy to do for clients, as long as the weather is permitting. I charge a small travel fee, but otherwise it is business as usual for a session. If you have a place near my Andover studio that is meaningful to your family, we can go there. Otherwise I have different parks and beaches that I have used over the years that I am able to recommend.
Worried about how to style your outdoor family photos? Don’t be! I have resources available to help you. For one thing, I offer an online styling tool for my clients. You can read more about it here: An Online Family Portrait Styling Tool. You can also check out our styling guides for both Summer and Fall family portraits for more specific styling ideas.
Displaying Your Artwork After Your Photo Shoot
After your session, you will have some choices to make about displaying your artwork. My team and I are here to help every step of the way! We offer in person viewing and ordering sessions where we project your photos onto the walls of the studio so that you can see your photos in high resolution instead of on your phone screen. We are also able to create wall art mock-ups using your very own walls. Here’s an example using the photos from this session. These are examples of framed portraits on a living room wall. We also offer custom canvases, albums, and more.
