Style and Select :: An Online Styling Tool For Family Portraits
Picture this: you have a photo session coming up. Maybe it’s newborn photos, or a one year session, or a Fall family portrait mini session. Either way, you have to figure out not just what you’re going to wear, but also Dad and the littles. Coordinating outfits for a whole family on top of your daily life doesn’t sound like a fun (or easy) task. Now imagine there was a free online styling tool that could help you come up with outfit ideas for the entire family using your preferred style and colors.
Sounds too good to be true, right? Well guess again! Because at Crabapple Photography we offer exactly that.
The website is called Style and Select and its purpose is to help families with outfit coordination. It’s super easy, super fast, and takes a little of the stress away from planning your family pictures.
The first step comes from us. We send you the link and our client code (if you haven’t received it yet, let us know!). And then, it’s all up to you. The questionnaire is super simple. First you put in the age range and gender of each person who will be part of the photo session. And then you choose between three styling types: Urban Hipster (Modern meets Retro), Romantic Boho (Flowy, Whimsical and Timeless), and Cute n’ Casual (Traditional Photo Attire). Not sure which style you fit into? Try them all out and see which clothing choices seem most like your family. They’re your family photos, and the styling should feel natural for your family.
The last step of the questionnaire is choosing 1-2 color options. Each option has two colors that work well together, and there’s definitely a color palette for everyone.
After the questionnaire is finished comes the fun part! You will be given a selection of clothing options for each member of the family included in the portraits. Dresses, tops, bottoms, everything you need. Simply choose one dress or set of shirt and pants for each person. The next step is adding accessories (if you choose) and then that’s it! Enter your email address to get your final selections right to your email.
Style and Select also gives you the option of purchasing items you like. Simply click the “shopping cart” icon and another tab will open. They offer links to everywhere from H&M to Zara and also to small Etsy shops.
