Shades of Blue Cake Smash Massachusetts :: Mr. M’s First Birthday

Mr. M and his family came to my Massachusetts studio for his all blue cake smash and first birthday celebration. Mr. M was beyond adorable and gave me lots of great smiles. One year olds are so much fun to photograph. And this handsome guy rocked his portraits. Even with a quick outfit change into these truly precious striped shorts and birthday crown, Mr. M managed to be happy and fun. And once we broke out the bubbles, it was all about celebrating!

Styling For This Massachusetts Cake Smash 

For Mr. M’s cake smash, we used different shades of blue. Since cake smash sessions are all about celebrating, they are the perfect time to have a little fun and get colorful. A great way to do this is to choose one color and highlight all the different shades. Mr. M’s blue ombre cake was the centerpiece of the shoot, with the different balloons, streamers, and Mr. M’s adorable outfit adding extra pops of blue. This shoot is a great example of how the styling and theme don’t need to be complicated. Something as simple as a color can make for a fun and festive cake smash.

Displaying Your Child’s Portraits

One of my favorite ways of displaying portraits of babies and children is in their bedrooms or playrooms. My daughters have canvases and framed artwork of their portraits displayed and they love getting to see themselves as babies. I can help you make sure your portraits are going to work cohesively in your spaces, too. Before your session I send a styling questionnaire to each client.
