North Shore Boston Maternity Portraits with 2 year old Big Brother
I met up with this family for some North Shore outdoor maternity portraits. And can I just say, I absolutely love this family! I got to meet them for big brother’s newborn, half year and first year portraits as well as Santa portraits mixed in. So, I was psyched to be able to capture baby #2 for them. The family consists of Mama, Daddy, Big Bro T, and their precious pup. And seriously, how excited does this little doggy look to get a new human? I love his little face.
For this session, mama wanted to also celebrate big bro turning 2. He had two different shirts to wear, one proudly proclaiming his new role as big brother, and another proudly proclaiming his new age. I love that big brother was so included in his mama’s maternity photos. One of my favorite photos might be the one of him peeking out from beneath mama and daddy. Or maybe it’s him laughing as he touches mama’s belly. Or maybe it’s everyone lined up, showing off their shoes. Okay, I give up, I can’t choose!
Styling For This North Shore Maternity Session
One of the great things about styling an outdoor session is that there is a built in beautiful backdrop. But I get asked a lot, “What is the best color to wear for outdoor family portraits?” In this case, the color chosen was blue and I’m absolutely loving it. Mama T looks stunning in this bright blue, and it is such an amazing pop of color against the colors of nature around her. Not to mention, it matches both of big brother T’s special shirts. Bright colors like this can be such a great choice for an outdoor maternity session, as they make sure that mama is the center of attention. Something cool about being able to work with families year after year is that we can incorporate fun things we’ve done in the past. For example, we recreated a shot we did for mama’s very first maternity portrait session. It showed the pup with mom and dad’s feet, as well as a pair of empty shoes for baby boy. So cool that this time around we got to fill those shoes and add another pair!
Choosing Prints and Products
Now that your North Shore maternity portraits session is over, it’s time to choose prints and products. Whether you’re looking for gift ideas, or prints and products for yourself, I can help. I offer in-studio or virtual viewing and ordering sessions to walk you through all of your photos as well as all your options. You can read more about all of the prints and products we offer here: What To Do With Your Photos.
When it comes to wall art, I’m even able to show you how your photos will look on your walls. Through the magic of technology, that is. Send me a photo of your wall (with a piece of printer paper taped to it so I can see the dimensions) and I do the rest. I can add your photos to the wall as framed artwork or as gallery wrapped canvases. I’m even able to create a custom wall gallery if that’s something your interested in. No more guessing how products will look or what size to get!
