North Shore Newborn Portrait Photographer :: Baby A

North Shore Newborn Portraits :: Mr. A

Mr A and his parents came to my North Shore studio for his newborn portraits. Before I say anything else about this little man, I have to take a second to talk about his EYES! Most of the time, newborns stay sound asleep during their newborn session. We keep the studio nice and warm, turn off any bright lights, and have some white noise going at all time. (If you’re on Instagram check us out and watch our highlights titled “#bts” to hear our baby shusher in action!) It’s so comfy and cozy in the studio during newborn sessions that it’s the ideal nap setting. But sometimes the little ones just want to stay awake and hang out with us. In these situations, I can manage to grab some shots like the ones of Mr. A’s big, gorgeous brown eyes!

I first “met” this little guy when he was still comfy and cozy in his mama’s belly. His parents purchased my first year portrait plan, which means that I got to see him just recently for his six month photos, and I’ll see him again for his 1 year photos. Plus I even got to see him for bunny pictures around Easter! These plans are a great option to make sure parents are able to capture all the big milestones of their baby’s first year!

Styling For This North Shore Newborn Portrait Session

The color choices for this session were timeless dark neutrals and dark blue. This is the perfect color scheme for a newborn session. The pops of bright white in mom’s and dad’s shirts, and the white fur underneath him, create the perfect amount of contrast. It’s easy to get a bit overwhelmed when deciding on a color scheme, but I have swaddles, blankets, bonnets, and furs in every color imaginable in my studio. It’s my goal to make sure these photo sessions are as easy and stress-free as possible for parents!

For sweet and adorable newborn accessories, I always start with Etsy.

Displaying Your Newborn Portraits

After your newborn session is over, there are some decisions to be made. Mainly, what prints and products are the right choice for you. The good news is, there is something for everyone and there are no wrong choices! You can read about all of the options in this post: What To Do With Your Photos.

When it comes to newborn photos, I love wall art. Not only will you be able to see your sweet new baby now, but these wall art pieces will become keepsakes. You’ll be able to look back on your teeny little one as they grow older. If you’re not sure whether you’d prefer canvases or framed artwork, or if you’re just not sure what size is best, I’m here to help. Just send me a photo of your wall and I can digitally add your portraits so that you can see how they’ll look. Below is an example fro this session.
