When a baby is born, so is a mom and dad. Which is why capturing photos of newborns with their parents is so important to me. And while I typically take a lot of full family portraits. I always make sure to get one on one newborn photos with mom or dad. Getting to see all that joy and love is so special. And I know these photos make such wonderful keepsakes for mom and dad.

Portraits with Dad
I love working with new dads. They’re so giddy and sweet, and sometimes a little terrified. But once they have their tiny little baby in their arms, all those nerves go out the window. These photos are so, so special. I have a few different poses that I go between for dads and their newborn baby. Up on the shoulder is an absolutely classic one. I do also love the ones where he’s holding his new pride and joy out in front of him for all to see. And when he gets to give his baby a little kiss? Perfection.
Portraits with Mom
As a mom myself, I definitely have a soft spot for the photos of moms and their new babies. Whether she’s holding them against her chest, or showing them off to the world. Or maybe giving sweet little kisses and cuddles. I also really love when mom and baby lay down and baby is held against mom’s cheek. No matter what pose, style, or vibes we are going for, these portraits of newborn and mom are always full of so much love and beauty. I am forever grateful to get to capture these moments.
