What to Wear for Christmas Photos :: Formal Styling Edition

When it comes to holiday and Christmas photos there are so many different options for styling. There is, of course, matching Christmas pajamas. There’s casual and cozy with Christmas sweaters. And there’s formal styling options for Christmas photos. Today’s blog post is all about the last option. When it comes to more formal outfits for holiday family photos, there are some important things to keep in mind. For one thing: comfort is key! If your little one is uncomfortable during portraits, trust me, you can tell. It’s always a good idea to err on the side of comfort. But you know your little one best, so you know what they can handle.

Christmas and Santa Claus mini sessions are only about 15 minutes, so keep that in mind as well. While that means less time for them to wear their formal look for Christmas photos, it also means less wiggle room to get them situated. Also keep in mind the weather and temperature. I can (and do) keep my studio nice and cozy warm. But if you’re coming for my Tree Farm mini sessions, I cannot control the weather outside!
