Mr. J’s One Year Pictures with Doggie :: South Boston MA Photographer

Is your baby turning one, but you’re just not sure you want a cake smash session? Don’t get me wrong, I love a cake smash session. But I also know that they’re not for everyone–and that is totally okay! Even if you don’t want a smash, your child turning one is still reason to celebrate. And it’s still a milestone worth capturing with portraits. In this case, this South Boston family chose to celebrate Mr. J turning one year old with pictures. And they brought along the family dog, too! I’ve had numerous dogs (and even cats!) in my studio over the years. I know that pets are definitely part of the family so I am always willing to welcome them into my studio. Of course, you know your pet best. So just a reminder that in-studio photos are in a small, enclosed space, with some adults that your dog hasn’t met before. Only you know if it’s the right choice for your pup.

I had previously photographed mom’s outdoor maternity photos. Their pup was also part of those photos. I love that this family included their first baby in these photos celebrating their son. I was unable to photograph Mr. J for his newborn photos (thanks a lot, Covid). But I’m so glad I was able to have this sweet Boston family in my studio for this combination one year and family pictures session.
