Miss S’s Rainbow Themed Cake Smash and 1 Year Photos :: Waltham MA Photographer
Miss S came to my studio to celebrate her first birthday and celebrate we did! Mom wanted a rainbow and unicorn theme for this cake smash. But, unfortunately, she forgot the rainbow prop she had planned to bring. But no worries–I was able to add a rainbow in digitally. And I really, really love how it turned out. The great thing about digitally adding a rainbow is that I could place it perfectly over Miss S, or even make it smaller and fit over my beloved ONE wooden letters. This was definitely a case of a forgotten prop turning out to be a blessing in disguise! A pink backdrop, some hanging silver stars, a unicorn horn headband and the cake was all that was needed to set the stage for a whimsical cake smash.
Something extra fun about this theme? During Miss S’s newborn photography session, she had both a unicorn headband AND a rainbow headband. I love getting to make these little connections between multiple sessions! Adding Holiday Photos to Milestone Sessions
This rainbow cake smash session was in the late fall, which also makes it the perfect time for something else. Christmas photos! During the fall my studio does turn into a mini Santa’s workshop/winter wonderland. Between my holiday mini sessions, Santa Claus photos, and people wanting updated Christmas photos for cards. This makes it super easy for me to add a quick holiday set up during any milestone photos. In this case, a red dress on Miss S and some little pine trees and a reindeer was enough to make some sweet and simple holiday photos. If your little one has a birthday, or any other milestone, in fall–ask about adding some holiday photos to your session!
