Ideas and Inspiration for Family Photos with Older Children :: Sudbury MA Photographer
One of the highlights of my year is getting the chance to catch up with the P family from Sudbury MA for family photos. I have been photographing them for so long and I love seeing them. The first time I photographed them was for son number three’s newborn photos back in 2016. I photographed Mr. W for 9 month and 1 year milestone photos. And starting in 2017, I have photographed them every year in the fall or summer for family portraits. This session is from 2021 and was on an early September evening right around sunset. It was the perfect time for golden hour photos. As always the family was so much fun to work with, and reminds me why I love family photos with older children. They are always great with posing for me. But they’re also great with the more fun and “candid” photos.
I always make sure to get solo portraits of each boy as they get older. This is something that I think is important for family photos, especially with older children. And there are also always a lot of fun sibling photos. Running, jumping, pig piles on top of one another. This family is proof that we can definitely have fun during family photo sessions!
