Outdoor Maternity Photos in June :: Pregnancy Portraits including Siblings
The great thing about living in New England is that we have great weather for outdoor photos a good portion of the year. In this case, these outdoor maternity photos were taken in June. And I am here to say that this was a great time of year for them. Of course it IS New England which means the weather can change from one second to the next. But if you’re thinking about having outdoor maternity photos I say go for it! The gorgeous backdrop of nature adds so much to portraits. And there is something about late spring and early summer where everything is in bloom that feels magical for pregnancy portraits. I am also a huge fan of outdoor photos in the summer, fall, and even in the winter as well!

Turning Your Pregnancy Photos into a Family Photo Session
One of the great things about pregnancy photos is that it’s a great time to celebrate family. Your family is growing, which is so exciting. And if you already have kiddos their lives are about to change. Including them in the maternity session is so special. For one thing, it lets you have a dual session. Part maternity portraits, part family photos. It’s a win-win! But also, including big siblings in the pregnancy portraits is a fantastic way to get them excited for the new baby and to include them in all of the celebrating. Plus you get adorable photos of your kids hugging your belly. And seriously, how cute are those pictures?!
Of course every family is different and some parents choose to have the maternity photos be just about mom (or mom and dad). And that is totally okay, too! But if you’re considering including the big siblings in your maternity photos–I am a definite fan.
