Beautiful Outdoor Pregnancy Pictures :: Baby Bump Portraits
I met up with this sweet couple from Wilmington MA for some outdoor pregnancy pictures. And let me just say, I am a little obsessed with this session! For one thing, Mama looked stunning in her floral dress. And that baby bump is the cutest. But also, this couple was so much fun! The great thing about outdoor photos is that we have the space and the freedom to have a little fun. In this case that meant I was able to capture some truly stunning photos of mom and dad walking hand in hand into the sunlight. Plus I got some great photos of some cuddles and kisses. And even a sweet shot of them dancing together!

Differences Between Indoor and Outdoor Maternity Sessions
I offer both in studio and outdoor options for just about every type of session. And there are definitely pros to both settings. But there are also some differences between in-studio and outdoor sessions that I like to make sure clients are aware of. Maternity sessions are definitely one of the easiest to offer outdoors since unless there are siblings, there are no children to account for. Which means that dressing for the weather can sometimes be easier. In my studio I have complete control over the temperature, which is especially helpful in the heat of summer or the cold of winter. Unfortunately, despite my best effort, I cannot control the weather. But as long as you’re willing to brave the heat (or the cold for an outdoor winter session), so am I!
I also have complete control over the lighting in my studio, but not over the lighting outdoors. However I have been photographing outdoors for many, many years (including in my past life as a wedding photographer!) so I definitely have some tricks up my sleeve when it comes to outdoor portraits. And there are also many pros to outdoor photos. For one thing, the stunning back drops, especially during golden hour. Plus the space and freedom involved with being outdoors. Outdoor sessions may not be the best option for everyone, but if you’re looking for a stunning outdoor maternity session I am always up for it!
