Mr. T and his family came to my studio from Nashua NH for family portraits and his 3 year old child photos. I had previously photographed him for his newborn, 6 month, 1 year, AND 2 year photos. And then I got to meet his baby sister, too. I love getting the chance to watch these little ones grow. And that definitely includes this cutie. Three years old is such a fun age. They’re learning something new every single day. And three year olds are absolutely hilarious. It’s definitely important to have a lot of options to keep these little ones focused. In this case, that meant a chair to climb on, a box to sit on, blocks to play with, and a tricycle to ride around on. What more could a toddler ask for?!
Something I get asked a lot by parents prior to a session, especially a toddler or child session, is “what should we have him/her wear?” And the good news is: there aren’t very many wrong answers to that. With toddlers and children, the most important thing is that they are comfortable. If they are wearing something they’re not comfortable in, you will definitely be able to tell. So, comfort is key. My favorite options are Cat and Jack from Target, Old Navy, or Hope and Henry.

It wasn’t just mom and dad who came along for these fun family photos. Mr. T’s grandparents came, too. I love getting the chance to photograph grandparents with their grandchildren. The bond between grandchild and grandparent is such an important one. I know from my own childhood, and also from watching my daughters with their grandparents.
