Miss R’s Boston Area Newborn Baby Portraits
Miss R came to my north of Boston studio for her newborn baby portraits back in 2019 (time sure flies!). She brought along Mom, Dad and big sis R. I had previously photographed big sis for her newborn photos, cake smash session, and for some outdoor family photos before little Miss R came along. I absolutely love this family, and I love getting the chance to capture these portraits as a way to remember every detail. Getting to watch these two little girls grow up is yet another perk to my job. I know I say it a lot, but getting to be a professional photographer has got to be the best job there is!
You can see big sis R’s cake smash session here: Wellesley Cake Smash. And you can see one of my absolute favorite photos ever, big sis playing on the beach with mom and dad, in our Styling Guide for Outdoor Summer Family Portraits. One thing I can always count on with this family is gorgeous, timeless styling! Whether it’s for family pictures or newborn baby photos.
What Is a Rainbow Baby?
There is a good chance that you have heard the term “rainbow baby” before. But you might not know what it is. A rainbow baby is a baby born after a loss. This term is used because this baby represents the light and color that comes after the storm. Many parents choose to honor their little rainbow baby during their sessions. This stunning rainbow headband that I have is the perfect way to do so in a subtle, timeless way. It warms my heart to be able to honor these special little ones in sessions like with these Boston newborn baby portraits.
This mama loves classic, neutral styles. But that doesn’t mean the entire session had to be neutral. Not only did we use the rainbow headband. But we also used some orange and green to represent the University of Miami. Dad is from Miami and received his undergrad degree there. For big sister R’s newborn portrait session we did a similar color scheme for one shot. Big sister’s portrait included a bright orange swaddle on green faux moss. I love that this one is slightly different, while keeping the same familiar color scheme. This is a great way to incorporate something special in a subtle way.
Capturing Every Second Of Your Session
Something that many people aren’t aware that I offer is a slideshow video of your session. This can include some behind the scene little videos I take as well as the finished images. This is a great way to capture every single second of your session. If this is something you think you will love, let me know prior to your session. This way I can make sure I’m also grabbing quick videos as we’re going! Below is Miss R’s video. Check out our YouTube to see her big sister’s, too!
