Boston Fall Family Photos :: Extended Family Portraits
When this sweet family from the greater Boston area contacted me about getting extended family portraits taken, I was super excited. It’s not often that I get to photograph extended families. Being able to capture all the different family relationships was extra special for me. Grandmother and grandchildren, siblings, in-laws, cousins, parents and children. There are so many different types of relationships and they’re all shown in this session.
They were such a great family which made this session fun and easy. But one of my favorite parts was definitely watching the cousins interact. They were having so much fun together! And no extended family portrait session would be complete without a candid shot of the kids ganging up on their dads, right?!
Styling an Extended Family for Fall Family Photos
Choosing outfits for a family of three can be tricky. And it only gets trickier the more people you add. I think this family did a great job styling everyone for their extended family photos. While the colors aren’t all the same, they all coordinate well together. There are a few different prints, but none of them stand out or clash. I love the recurring shades of maroon, which is a perfect choice for fall. All the different shades of blue add the right amount of contrast. The light blues and purples pop against the fall background.
