Polar Express Themed Christmas Portraits in Massachusetts
“Seeing is believing, but sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we can’t see.” – Polar Express
The Polar Express book was first published in 1985 and has become a classic over the years. They’ve made a movie and even a video game about the little boy’s magical journey to the North Pole. So it’s only fitting that we bring that magic into our Christmas and Santa Claus mini sessions! This is a digital backdrop, which means it doesn’t take much extra time during your mini session. I set up the shot against a solid background and then in post processing I add the magic. The end result is stunning Polar Express themed child photos like the ones down below. This is an extra special treat for the little ones who get to see themselves in a storybook setting when their photos are printed.
Holiday Mini Sessions
A few times a year I offer mini sessions. One of them is before the holidays. Since it’s such a busy time of year, I’ve found that mini sessions tend to be the perfect option. Of course all families are different, so a mini session might not be the best choice for your family. If you have a large family, or if you have a child (or children) that are very shy and take some time to warm up to strangers, a full session might be a better choice. Since mini sessions are only 15 minutes long, it doesn’t give us a lot of time to coax your little one into sitting still or smiling for the camera.
You can read this blog post to learn more about mini sessions. If you feel that a mini session is the right option for your family, then you can use this link to book your holiday mini session. Make sure you add on the Polar Express portrait option to your Christmas or Santa Claus Experience mini session if you want to have a magical photograph like one of these below!
Displaying Your Christmas Portraits
I love to decorate for the holidays. I have bins full of decorations for everything from Easter to 4th of July to Christmas and everything in between. And included in these decorations are portraits of my daughters. When they were toddlers I took photos of them dressed as superheroes, sitting on Santa’s lap, with our pal Bun Bun the Easter bunny. These portraits became framed artwork or canvases, and now I take them out year after year as part of our holiday decorations. I love this tradition. And as my girls get older, they love getting to see themselves in past Christmases with Santa.
Below is a wall art mock-up using one of the portraits from this Polar Express themed child photos session. I can create a mock-up using photos from any session. Just send me a photo of the wall you’re looking to decorate and I can digitally add your portraits. Email me today to get the process started and to learn more.
