When Miss M’s mom told me she wanted to her newborn’s photos to be Disney princess themed, I knew it was going to be a challenge. But it was a challenge I was super excited to take on! She had seen the viral photos from Belly Beautiful Portraits and wanted her very own princess photos!
Belle
I want adventure in the great wide somewhere,
I want it more than I can tell.
And for once it might be grand
To have someone understand,
I want so much more than they’ve got planned.
Belle from Beauty and the Beast is one of the most popular princesses, and it’s easy to understand why. Curious, smart, imaginative. Belle spends her days with her “nose stuck in a book” and dreaming of adventure. Her golden ballgown is iconic, so wrapping Miss M in a yellow for her Belle look was an obvious choice. Mrs. Potts and Chip, Belle’s friends from the castle, and Beast’s enchanted rose round out the picture perfect Beauty and the Beast set.
Aurora
“They say if you dream a thing more than once, it’s sure to come true.”
Disney’s Sleeping Beauty is a classic fairytale full of magic and true love’s kiss. And Aurora is as classic a princess as there is. Hidden away by fairies as a baby to protect her from the evil Maleficent, Aurora never loses her ability to dream. Miss M is a mini sleeping beauty in pink and surrounded by flowers. This set was as sweet and feminine as princess Aurora!
And Miss M picked the perfect time to peek open one little eye! It’s almost like she knew.
Ariel
I don’t know when, I don’t know how
But I know something’s starting right now.
Watch and you’ll see, Someday I’ll be
Part of your world.
Disney’s Little Mermaid might not be an old classic like Sleeping Beauty, but it was an instant classic to anyone who watched it. And Ariel became an instant favorite princess. A bit rebellious, and more than a little curious, Ariel dreams of living life on land. She makes a deal with the sea-witch Ursula that takes her voice, but Ariel proves she’s stronger than she seems. Ariel’s green tail and purple shells are as iconic as Belle’s dress, and this knit version is beyond adorable. And of course, you can’t have Ariel without Flounder and Sebastian!
Newborn Miss M
“I am a princess. All girls are.”
And, of course, the prettiest princess of them all: Miss M! While mom wanted to include the Disney princesses, she also wanted some newborn portraits that were all about Miss M. Thankfully sweet M slept throughout the whole session, which made all the outfit changes much easier (we did have a backup plan just in case, but thankfully we didn’t need it!)
For Miss M’s portraits we still managed to get a little whimsical. The white lace, the vintage pram, princess crowns, and of course angel wings.
Displaying Your Newborn Portraits
Newborn portraits are some of the most iconic portraits. Which is one reason why I love getting the chance to be a newborn photographer! I also love being able to help my clients every step of the way to make sure that they are receiving the photos, and the prints and products, of their dreams. Which is why my team and I are here to help in whatever way we can. One way that we help our clients to determine the prints and products that they want is by creating custom wall art mock-ups. We use a photo of the wall in your home that you want to display your artwork on. And then using the magic of technology, we add your portraits to the photo. Bippidi-boppidi-boo, you have your very own mock-up! Below is one we made using these Disney princess newborn photos in a nursery.
