Wilmington Newborn Photos :: Baby P
Baby P and his parents came to my studio from Wilmington, MA for his newborn portraits. I had first met them when Mr. P was still in his mama’s belly for her maternity photos. Check them out here: Wilmington MA Pregnancy Photos. And they were just back in the studio recently for his cake smash session! I’m always excited when I get to see these little babies as they grow.
For Mr. P’s Wilmington newborn portraits, I went with neutral colors. This allowed the props and personal touches to stand out. Plus the blue wrap that he’s swaddled in for his family portraits matches mom’s eyes perfectly. And judging by his sleepy little smile, he likes it too!
There are so many different newborn portrait poses. And some even have names! Over the years, I think it’s safe to say that I have photographed every single newborn pose. And I definitely have some favorites. So I wrote a blog about them! Check it out here: Top 6 Newborn Photos to Capture.
Incorporating Personal Touches in this Newborn Portrait Session
Mom and dad brought along the New England Patriots gear and the Dr. Seuss props. I love a challenge, especially when that challenge is incorporating props from home into a Wilmington area newborn photo session. Including these personal touches is such a great way to make these photos truly into keepsakes. I have a huge assortment of props in the studio to use, but there’s something fun about being able to have the prop or the accessory at home, too. I can imagine Baby P growing up with this Patriot’s bear and growing into this jersey.
Personal touches from home are also a great way to make newborn portrait photography unique. The Dr. Seuss hat, bowtie and knit booties are so beyond adorable, and I can guarantee that I’ve never taken a newborn portrait quite like that one!
