North Shore Boston :: Fall Family Pictures

I met up with all of these North Shore families outdoors for some fall family pictures last year. While it might have just felt like summer a few days ago (hello, heat and humidity!) fall is here! The crisp air, the gorgeous colors, the apple picking. There are so many great things about fall in New England. Fall is seriously the perfect time of year for outdoor family pictures. Keep scrolling and you’ll see what I mean.

I always get a lot of questions about how to choose the right outfits for family portraits. This first family down below is a perfect example of how to match in a family portrait. Mom and Dad are both in darker colors, letting their little girl be the star of the show. I love that mommy and daughter are matching, but the red in mom’s skirt is muted. Blacks and reds are a great choice against the fall colors.

I love being able to capture interactions between siblings. There is such a great and unique bond between siblings, and the love between this brother and sister shines through in these photos. Scroll all the way to the end of this post to see one of my favorite shots of the two of them.

North Shore Fall Family Pictures Mini Sessions

A few times a year I offer mini sessions. These sessions are shorter than your typical session, lasting 15-20 minutes. This is just the right amount of time for busy families and restless kids. Since fall is such a great time of year for outdoor photos, it’s the perfect time for mini sessions.
