Boston Pregnancy Photography With Mom-to-Be M

I met mama-to-be M and hubby from Boston at my studio for her pregnancy photos. And she is one cool mama! I mean, she has purple hair, so obviously she’s cool. I love how relaxed she was, breaking out in some yoga poses. She is, after all, a yoga instructor! Pregnancy and motherhood is such an adventure, it’s good to get some zen in!

This session was also full of personal touches, which I absolutely love. How adorable is the picture of mom, dad, and baby (bump) with their party hats? She wanted to included these because the day you’re born is, technically your one and only “birth day.” I loved that! And down at the bottom is one of mom surrounded by a beautiful string of mother blessing flags. Each flag was custom made by an important woman in her life. We are not alone in this journey and its an important thing to remember. Baby is already surrounded by love!

What To Wear For A Maternity Session

For maternity sessions the number one thing to consider is what is going to make you feel comfortable. I generally suggest having a black tank top and leggings for bare belly shots. The black on black works great with any backdrop, accessories or pops of color. In my studio I have a number of options of maternity dresses, gowns and accessories for mamas to wear. This blue dress is one example. My goal is always to make mamas feel happy, comfortable, and beautiful.
