Butterfly and Flower Cake Smash Portraits for Miss Y :: Quincy MA Photographer
I had the pleasure to celebrate Miss Y’s first birthday with her and her family. They came from Quincy MA for some 1 year and cake smash portraits. And Miss Y is just made for the camera. Those smiles! I cannot get enough. We started off with some family portraits in front of the dark wood. Mom and dad wore black, which made Miss Y in her white outfit really pop. I love the dramatic look of dark clothes in front of the dark backdrop. Some more solo portraits of Miss Y and her white lace outfit in front of the dark background followed. And then we moved over to the lighter backdrop for the real fun (and messy) part. The cake smash!
Ideas for Cake Smash Sessions
For Miss Y’s cake smash it was all about pink, gold, butterflies, and flowers. Some of the balloons were filled with gold confetti which adds such a fun touch. I included a few lanterns for a little bit of glow. My favorite wooden “O N E” letters were also included. I love the way that the light reflected off of the golden butterflies and the pink, white, and gold balloons. Miss Y’s white outfit and golden crown just sealed the deal on this gorgeous and girly cake Quincy smash session.
There was an added fun part to this cake smash session: a bath! This little vintage style clawfoot tub is so adorable. I often use it for milk bath sessions. But having a little time to splash (and maybe clean off some frosting) at the end of a cake smash is such a fun little extra. These photos always come out so adorable. If your little one loves water and bath time, consider adding it on to your session!
