A Gift Guide for Mom :: 2024 Mother’s Day Gift Ideas
Mother’s Day is around the corner and that means it’s time to talk gift ideas for the moms in your life! Whether we’re talking your own mother, your wife/partner, your sister, friend, or even yourself. I’ve compiled some of my favorite gift ideas for Mother’s Day 2024 in this guide. I tried to keep it local, with as many small business as I could. Specific products, or gift cards, from these locations would be the perfect gift for any mother in your life. Whether she’s the type that deserves some pampering (treat yoself!), some home decor, a sweet treat, a cute little extra, or a nice dinner out. And of course, I can’t forget to mention portraits and photo prints!
Treat yoself
Starting off with a category near and dear to my heart–Treat Yoself! As mom’s it’s so easy to focus all your attention on your kids and forget to take time out to treat yourself. Which is why a gift that includes a little pampering is definitely a great way to go. All of the following local business are great examples of where to begin–but this list is definitely not exhaustive. I highly recommend every place on this list, but remember, they’re just inspiration. Whether it’s an item from a shop, or a gift card for products or services. You can’t go wrong keeping pampering in mind.
Dovetail in downtown Andover is one of my go-to spots for gift ideas. Everything is handmade and fantastic. From candles to skincare they have it all.
Looking to buy a gift for the woman who has everything? A gift card to Rinnovo Salon (or whatever salon she prefers) is such a great gift.
I for one would love to receive a gift certificate to go get an airbrush tan! Such an easy (and safe) way to get a perfect glow just in time for summer.

Home Sweet Home
Home decor is another great option for a special Mother’s Day gift. If you have a really good idea of the mom in your life’s home decor aesthetic, then definitely go for grabbing a piece of furniture or decor item. If you’re not quite sure, maybe stick with a gift card, a candle, or flowers.
These candles are so fantastic, I own a somewhat embarrassing amount. And even better, these are made by a veteran and some of the proceeds go to helping veterans. It’s a win all around.

Les Fleurs is part flower shop, part antique shop, part French inspired boutique. For a fully amazing and gorgeous shop.
A Sweet Treat for Mother’s Day
I’m not exaggerating when I say that the donuts at Somebody’s Place in Andover (right next door to my studio!) are some of the absolute most delicious donuts I have ever eaten. Seriously. Try them!
I will be the first to admit that I am a little (a lot) obsessed with chocolate. And the chocolates and treats from Candy Dish in North Andover are unmatched. And it’s a local mom-owned business!
Anyone else have a specific cake or pastry they dream about? Just me? Either way, Piro’s has the cake that I dream about, it is that good. And the pastries and other fun treats are equally fabulous.
Cute Little Extras
This is a town staple (and one of the oldest bookstores in the country) and is a must for the bookworm in your life.
For the girl mom in your life, mommy and me bows/headbands would be such an adorable gift idea!
A gift shop full of homemade items, they also offer both private and group workshops. Such a fun space and perfect for gifts.

Another great idea for a Mother’s Day gift? A date night to one of the fantastic restaurants in downtown Andover. Whether you’re looking for Italian, Mediterranean, Mexican, American, upscale pub, or more. Andover has some truly amazing restaurants and I recommend you try any (and all) of them.
