As a newborn photographer, I can say that there are definitely certain colors that come and go with trends. Over the past few years, parents having been using gray in newborn photos for their baby girls more and more. And I am absolutely here for it. Gray is such a great color for any newborn portraits. It’s such a versatile color, it goes with just about everything. It’s a perfect neutral to include, especially for parents who are looking to have wall art of their portraits made after their session. Taking this factor into account when it comes to styling newborn portraits can be so important. But gray goes with just about every style of decor, so even if you end up redecorating, your gray styling will still work!
Color Palettes with Gray
The greatest thing about using gray in newborn photos for your baby girls is the versatility. And not just in the sense that there are so many different ways to use gray. You can have a gray fur as a backdrop, or a soft gray blanket. Gray knits and swaddles add a classic touch. Gray accessories and props can be a great way to add a neutral touch. But gray also goes with so many different colors. Gray and white for a modern look. And gray and pink have become the it color combo for little girls. Yellow and gray had a bit of a moment a few years ago, and I think it is still just as gorgeous. Light purple and lilac shades go beautifully with gray. And I think teal is an up and comer for girls, and I think a gray and teal look would be fantastic.
