It’s officially 2025. I first opened my photography studio doors in 2009 which means this will be my sixteenth year as owner and photographer at Crabapple Photography. I’ve been located in Andover, MA since 2017 at 38 Andover Street. However when I first opened the studio, it was in a converted, detached two garage in Medford, Massachusetts. My husband and I weren’t even married yet and had no clue when we might have kids.
Since 2009 there have certainly been some huge milestones both personally and professionally. The birth of my twins being a happy one! The death of my mother to pancreatic cancer being a profoundly sad, but equally as life changing one. Cancer wasn’t done with our family yet, we’ve also lost my mom’s two brothers and my own husband was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer at the end of 2020. Happy to report that as of his last scan, he was cancer free!
Professionally, I’ve been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, and made it through a pandemic. I’ve photographed literal thousands of families at my photography studio. It is never lost on me that you’ve put your faith and trust in me to capture these memories for you.
Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing with you what I have seen in newborn photography trends. There have been big changes in props and colors and but overall, the sentiment remains the same. My goal is to capture your new baby just after birth to memorialize this momentous moment in time for you. Now that I’m 16 years in to my photography business, it has never been more apparent to me how fast time flies.
Have a wonderful and happy 2025, I hope to see you soon!
