Toddler Photos for 1.5 Year Old Mr. J :: Ipswich MA Photographer

Oh, toddlers. Personally, I love that toddler age. And I really love photographing toddlers. Don’t get me wrong, it can be a lot of work. They definitely don’t go easy on you! But I think that toddler photos like this Ipswich, MA session are definitely worth all of the effort. For one thing, Mr. J is beyond adorable so that automatically makes my job easier. And his parents were sweet as can be, too.

I had previously photographed sweet Mr. J for his 9 month photos. That session was right around Easter so his parents opted to go with some classic sitter session portraits, and then add a few Easter themed ones at the end. They went with a similar idea for this session, too. We started off with some family portraits before transitioning to some solo photos of Mr. J. I leaned into the classic looks and props again for these photos. The slight vintage vibe in his clothing plus the old school toys was perfect. Then at the end, I took advantage of having all of the Christmas and holiday props easily accessible.

Around the holidays I offer seasonal mini sessions. And these sessions are a really great option for many families. But looking at this session is a great example of why booking a full session is a better idea for some. Because we had a full session to work with, I was able to split up the time. We were able to capture some beautiful non-seasonal photos. But then there was still plenty of time to get the Christmas jammies on, pull out the Christmas props, and get some really special holiday toddler photos, too. The best of both worlds! Also–I have never, ever seen a 1.5 year old who could hold a mug quite like Mr. J could. Very impressive, little man!
