Funny Pictures with Santa :: Massachusetts Photographer
Every year I am so, so lucky to have the man in the red suit himself come to my studio. That’s right–for years now Santa Claus himself has been coming all the way from the North Pole to my Andover MA studio for pictures. These few days of Santa mini sessions are always a ton of fun (and maybe a tiny bit hectic!). But they are always, always worth the effort. It’s so much fun getting to see the joy in children’s faces when they meet Santa. Sometimes it can be a little touch and go (stranger danger is a real thing!) but he’s a pro, and so are we. Typically we ease him into the scene, having the child or children sit for a few photos by themselves before we say the magic word (“Rudolph”) and out he comes.
And while these photos are often precious keepsakes for parents, that doesn’t mean they have to be serious. In fact some of my favorites over the years are the silly and funny pictures with Santa. Whether it’s Santa pretending to sleep when a baby falls asleep, or pretending to cry alongside a screaming toddler. In the case of these pictures with Santa, we’ve got some “cheers”ing with cocoa, some magic books, some dabbing and dancing. And even the big man sticking his tongue out! I love that Santa isn’t afraid to get silly!
