1 Year Photos with Big Sisters for Miss I :: Billerica MA Photographer

When Miss I came to my studio to celebrate her first birthday she didn’t come alone. She brought her two big sisters to help her celebrate with 1 year photos. The focus was all on Miss I for her cake smash, however. Which was sweet and girly with a boho twist. The floral embroidery hoops are definitely one of the most popular cake smash session decorations. And I can totally understand why. They add a beautiful touch to any cake smash session without making it overly colorful. These hoops are a great option to add just a little touch of boho whimsy to a session.

Including Family and Siblings in First Birthday Photos

Besides the cake smash portion, this session was very much about getting some family and sister photos. Big sisters were 6.5 and 5 years old during this session. That is such a fun age for big siblings for these portrait sessions. And these ladies were SO good during this session. They gave me so many smiles, and were very helpful with their baby sister. And while this session was mostly for celebrating Miss I’s birthday, I did take a few photos of just her big sisters. The ones below of them hugging is a definite highlight from these 1 year and sister photos!

I think this session is a great reminder that while milestone baby portrait sessions like these 1 year photos are mostly about the milestone, they don’t have to be ONLY about the milestone. Whether you’re thinking about newborn or cake smash sessions or anywhere in between. Including family photos in a full session is always an option. Whether that means the full family including parents. Or just including brothers in sisters, there are always options for sessions like these 1 year photos.
