Sunset Maternity Photos in Summer :: Topsfield MA Photographer
I met up with this stunning couple for some outdoor sunset maternity photos last summer. It was a gorgeous July evening and the weather, and the sunset, cooperated beautifully. We met up at a local park that I love for outdoor portrait sessions. It has gorgeous green trees, open area with perfect view of the sky, and even a river. It’s the perfect one stop spot for all sorts of outdoor views. There is something extra stunning about outdoor maternity portraits. Especially when it’s sunset!

Choosing Outdoor Portraits
When it comes to choosing between indoor and outdoor sessions for maternity photos, there are some things to take into consideration. With indoor photos I have complete control over temperature, lighting, and even “wind” (hair dryers and fans, of course!). This means that if there are very specific photos that you are looking for, sometimes having an in-studio session is your best bet. Of course, there’s also weather to take into consideration. Although I have done some truly stunning outdoor maternity photos in the winter, too.
Another thing to think about is props and accessories. Typically I use less props for maternity portraits than some other sessions. However you can definitely still include props and accessories for these portraits. Whether that means stunning maternity gowns, flower crowns, or even faux flowers and butterflies. All of these have been used in maternity sessions before. And in my studio, I have a ton of options available. If you’re interested in outdoor portraits, we can definitely still use any props, gowns, or accessories. It will just take a little extra discussion and planning ahead of time! I am always happy to work with you to make the session exactly how you dream!
