Blue Newborn Photos for Baby Girl M :: Melrose MA Photographer
Miss M and her parents came to my studio from Melrose MA for her newborn photos. We started off with family pictures of the brand new family of three. For the family portraits we opted for them in front of the stark white curtain that I also use for silhouette photos. I love how the stark white looks behind mom and dad in blue. This background really allows the family to pop and be the sole focus. I typically take family photos in front of my dark wooden backdrop. But this session is a good reminder of how beautiful photos can be with this background! After family photos it was all about Miss M. For her newborn photos, mom and dad decided to go with shades of blue for their baby girl. This is a pretty unique color choice for baby girls. But it is one I always, always love! If you’re having a baby girl, PLEASE consider blue for her newborn portraits! Once upon a time blue was the go-to color for baby girls (pink was actually for boys way back when) and I can totally see why. Keep scrolling to see more of sweet Miss M all in blue!
Choosing Colors for Newborn Photos
When it comes to newborn photos, the majority of the color (or “theme”) of a session will come from wraps, blankets, and accessories. And if there are family portraits then we can bring that same color scheme into the clothing parents and siblings are wearing. Since for the most part newborns are swaddled (or naked) for their newborn photos. As far as what color to choose for your newborn’s photoshoot, the options are only limited by the rainbow. Over the years I have included every single color in newborn photos. I have a huge assortment of swaddles, accessories, furs, and blankets in my studio for use during sessions. No matter what color you choose, I can make it work. But as I mentioned above–I am pretty partial to blue when it comes to newborn photos for girls!
