Miss A’s Pretty Pastel First Birthday and Family Photos :: Stoneham MA Photographer
This family of four came to my studio from nearby Stoneham to celebrate their baby girl’s first birthday with some photos. We started with some family portraits before moving onto sibling and then solo portraits of the birthday girl. This session had some really great variety in terms of backdrop and set design. Some of the photos of Miss A were very simple and not overly stylized. And others were in front of a very sweet bee themed set design. Her parents opted to not do a cake smash, but this Stoneham first birthday photos session is a great example of how you can still have fun celebration portraits!

Styling Ideas for Family and Baby Photos
Throughout this Stoneham first birthday photo session, Miss A was in different pastel shades. But she wasn’t the only one! It’s not often that family portraits are styled with pastel colors, especially in the studio. But I love it, and think it turned out super cute. Especially in front of the white background for family pictures. I also love that while Miss A was in pretty pink for her stylized one year portraits, she wasn’t for the others. The soft pastel aqua color she is wearing for the family photos and the more classic and simple portraits is such a pretty color. And it’s definitely more unexpected than classic pinks and purples for baby girl. It matches big brother perfectly. Big brother’s plaid shorts go with Dad’s plaid shirt. And mom brings in the classic pink for a complementary color. If you’re considering pastels for indoor family photos, this is how to do it!
For the stylized set for Miss A’s Stoneham one year photos we went with a floral and subtle bumble bee design. These gold bees are some of my favorite props I have in the studio right now. Add some honeycomb designs, faux flowers, and my much beloved wooden ONE letters and you’ve got everything you could want for a sweet as can BEE one year set design!
